Selfie Art Day

Thanks to Yvette blogging her selfie I was reminded it was SelfieArt Day today. I love her pencil rendering, it looks like a black and white photo.

I went for the opposite look. A finger painting with kids’ paints. Maybe next time I’ll use dog hair and snail slime lol.

Would love to see more blogging friends do a selfie.

Someone remind me about bird day 8th please. I’ve missed a few of those. Just think by then the kids will be back in school.

We’ve been visiting my friend’s grandchild in hospital a lot. So cute! I can’t get on the wifi there which is quite refreshing I suppose.

Happy creating!

Selfie Art Day!

Thanks to Susan sharing her selfie today I thought I’d have a go too.

I don’t know why but it won’t let me share this whole photo so I’m split in two 😝

20160524_154352~2~4~2And here is a very quick not at all the same watercolor pencil of it:

And here it is after I added water:

Too bad they are trimmed and on the side. WordPress is switching things up for me lol.

The eyes are too far apart and many more things wrong with it. I’ll set an alarm for the next time so I’m prepared. It still might be rubbish. Don’t hold your breath but do hold a paintbrush!

Happy creating!

Leggings available here in my Society6 store. There is a search tool so if you type in leggings you can choose from loads.

Portrait Practise

Okay so the rest of March I’m going to practise drawing.

Here is my son. I’ll do a full length for tomorrow:

One a Day: Selfie Art

Thanks to the lovely Teresa at One Good Thing and Kirk of Dumb Sketch Daily for starting Selfie day.

All you have to do is post a self-portrait on your blog and tweet it with the hashtag #SelfieArt @teresarobeson.

Here’s mine. I went a bit heavy under the eyes I must have felt tired at the time 😉  like experimenting with lots of shading on a portrait one time and then minimal shading and see what a difference it makes. Next time I’ll try more shading and us pencil for softer lines.

Have a great day!

One a Day: Gwen

I’ve wanted to draw Gwen for the longest time and with The Voice just around the corner it might just be ready in time.

I hope to do Pharrell too sometime.

Pat will be excited The Voice is coming up. Anyone else?

One a Day: Melissa McCarthy

Thanks WordPress you have a great sense of humor. I tried to turn it honestly.

How many people watch Mike & Molly? It’s my favorite show.

Melissa is also a seriously bad-ass actress in a number of movies. Her latest, Spies is hilarious!

And bless her she has a brand new clothes line out for larger ladies to feel great. So empowering! Go Melissa.

One a Day: Cilla Black

Thinking of Cilla this week and what a fab entertainer/singer she was.

Sorry I didn’t measure the facial features. It’s not the best likeness.

One a Day: Jules Bianchi

The eyes aren’t as wonky as usual but the ears aren’t the same size so that makes up for it lol. Still shocked this young driver is no longer with us.

Artist Nick Moscovitz on Instagram

I think on quiet Thursdays I’m going to share an artist from Instagram. The first one I pick is a Graphic Designer, Art Director, Illustrator and Artist.  He is an amazing artist!

His Instagram handle is @nickmoscovitz. I’ve also just found him on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/capellasistin/

Clark Gable

Barak Obama

 Julie Andrews

Oprah Winfrey

Aren’t they amazing! So if you are on Instagram go check him out. I believe he even takes requests. I can’t believe he is following me and comments too. What a guy!

Here’s how you do it lol:

p.s. my One a Day today is revising a poem. I’ve been to school handing out milk.

Have a great day!
